Mumbai, Oct 17 (IBNS) : An elderly Right to Information activist was shot dead by a man in his home in Mumbi on Saturday, reports said.

According to police, 72-year-old Bhupendra Vira was watching TV at his home in Santa Cruz, when the assailant  entered and shot him in the head.

Police suspect that the killer might have used silencer b ecause Vira's wife, who was reportedly in the house, did not hear any gun shot.

Vira had organised a campaign against land grabbing and illegal constructions in his colony.

Based on his family's complaint, the police have arrested  Razzaq Khan, a former corporator and his son.

Khan reportedly had several confrontations with Vira in the past.
