Mamata to attend Nitish Kumar's oath-taking ceremony

Dhaka/Patna, Feb 20 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday said she will attend JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar's oath-taking ceremony on Sunday.

She said Kumar invited her to attend the ceremony.

"Nitish ji has invited me to his oath ceremony on Sunday. Yes, I am attending. Looking forward," Banerjee, who is currently in Bangladesh, tweeted.

Janata Dal-United leader Nitish Kumar will once again take oath as the Chief Minister of Bihar on Feb 22 after he was invited by governor Keshari Nath Tripathi to do so.

According to reports on Friday, Kumar will take oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the fourth time on Sunday at 5 pm.

The statement was made by Kumar after meeting the governor to stake his claim.

Earlier on Friday, he apologized to the people of Bihar for quitting the post of Chief Minister in the aftermath of the drubbing of his party in the Lok Sabha polls last year.

After Jitan Ram Manjhi resigned on Friday instead of proving his claims of support on the floor of the House, Nitish Kumar said: "I apologise for my mistake."
