Mamata Banerjee visits flood affected areas of North Bengal

Kolkata, Aug 21 (IBNS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday visited the flood-hit areas of North Bengal for inspection.

She visited the flood-hit areas of Malda, Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur districts of North Bengal.

The WB CM shared some of the pictures of her visit to North Bengal on Facebook.

In a statement on Facebook, Banerjee said: "To ensure that relief materials reach all and repair and restoration work are carried out in full swing, I took a meeting of concerned officials after the visit."

Along with the CM, state minister Firhad Hakim also visited the flood affected areas of North Bengal.

At least five people reportedly died in the recent flood which lashed North Bengal in recent times.
