Lok Sabha adjourned till noon for the second consecutive day over Modi's remarks against Manmohan

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IBNS) : In a repeat of Monday's scenario the Lok Sabha was adjourned for about half an hour into the third sitting of the Winter Session of the Parliament on Tuesday after irate Congress members demanded an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his comments on his predecessor Manmohan Singh, reports said.

A motion was passed after Congress members stormed the well of the House seeking an apology from  the PM.

They shouted slogans saying, “Narendra Modi maafi maango” ( Tender apology, Narendra Modi).

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha had been adjourned on Monday because of this.

During his campaign before the Gujarat elections, Modi  alleged that Singh had spoken to  Pakistani officials about the polls.

He alleged that Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar had held a secret meeting with Pakistani officials.

Singh, who among others, was present on the meeting, accused Modi  on December 11  of spreading “falsehoods” to “score political points”.

He said it was only a dinner hosted by Aiyar and no discussions regarding Gujarat polls took place.

On December 13, in a video statement, Singh said that Modi was “setting a dangerous precedent by his insatiable desire to tarnish every constitutional office”.
