Life in Uttarakhand continue to be affected by heavy rains

Dehra Dun, Jul 18 (IBNS): The heavy rains continued to throw life out of gear in Uttarakhand on Monday with level of rivers rising, more landslides and accidents, according to media reports.
At least 16 people were killed in Uttarakhand in rain-related accidents, including four people who lost their lives in Tehri district when their car was hit by debris resulting from a landslide, media reported.

Incessant rains sent the Ganga, Yamuna and their tributaries into spate with all of them including the Bhagirathi, Alaknanda and Mandakini flowing close to the danger mark, prompting authorities to evacuate people living there, reported NDTV.

The Char Dham Yatra has been halted after highways were blocked by landslides and pilgrims stranded at various places, media reported.
