Leaders questions validity of Nitish Kumar's election as the national JD-U president
The meeting is scheduled to be held later this month at Rajgir, a historical town in Nalanda which is home district of the chief minister.
However, the JD-U in a quickest “surgical action” has removed four state party presidents who challenged the authority of the chief minister.
Those removed from the post include the state unit chiefs of West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakahdn and Delhi.
“They were removed as they were challenging the validity of election of Kumar as the JD-U’s national president,” party general secretary KC Tyagi told the media on Saturday.
But, the problem for Kumar is far from over as still there are many leaders raising a banner of revolt.
This is the second major setback for Kumar in the past 24 hours.
This comes shortly after the Patna High Court struck down his total prohibition law on Friday, terming it as “illegal”.
Kumar has been constantly trying to get a foothold in other states highlighting his intensive campaign against liquor.
