Lalu Prasad questioned by CBI in land-for-hotel scam

| @indiablooms | Oct 05, 2017, at 11:34 pm
Patna, Oct 5 (TheBiharPost/IBNS) : RJD chief Lalu Prasad was on Thursday quizzed by the CBI in the land-for-hotel scam in which his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi Yadav are also accused.

Prasad reached the CBI headquarters in Delhi before noon in the company of his daughter Misa Bharti. Soon thereafter, his questioning started.

Prasad appeared before the CBI  after defying three summons in the past.

His son and former deputy chief minister of Bihar Tejashwi is scheduled to be questioned on Friday.

Both are accused of awarding the maintenance contract for two IRCTC hotels to a private firm after receiving bribe of three acre land plots in Patna.

The fresh case of corruption was registered against them in July last.

The same month, the CBI conducted a raid at the residence of Prasad in connection with the scam which ultimately led to the break-up in the ruling Grand Alliance and formation of a NDA government led by same Nitish Kumar.

However, the RJD leaders alleged the case was only a excuse for Nitish Kumar to walk out of the Grand Alliance and return to the BJP camp.
