Kolkata: Suspended school student goes missing
According to his family members, the student- Bisweswar Paul- went to school as usual on Saturday and has been untraceable since.
A missing complaint, including abduction charges, has been lodged at Battala Police Station in Kolkata, officials said.
"We have started investigating into the missing case of a class-X student, who is a resident of Kankurgachi area," a senior official of Kolkata Police told IBNS.
"As his family has not received any call demanding ransom, so far, there is very minimum possibility of abduction." he further said.
Meanwhile, officials of Scottish Church Collegiate School said that the student had been placed under suspension since last 29 days for indisciplined activities.
"We placed him under suspension and he was directed to attend school only on exam days," a school official told IBNS.
While the student's parent has claimed that the school authority did not inform them about the suspension, Scottish Church Collegiate School's principal Bivash Saniel told IBNS: "The decision was taken during a meeting in presence of Bisweswar Paul's guardian and his family was also directed not to send the student to school, except on exam days."
Alleging that their child goes missing due to school's negligence, Bisweswar's family members demonstrated in the school premise on Monday.
Meanwhile, due to an hour-long demonstration, the school principal fell sick and was rushed to a local hospital.
A police team has been deployed to keep law and order at the scene.
The situation is under control now and demonstrating family members of the missing student went home, till latest update came in.
