Kolkata, Jul 14 (IBNS): A mentally unstable man reportedly climbed atop the Howrah Bridge (Rabindra Setu) in Kolkata on Friday morning, blocking traffic in the area during the pick office hours.
According to reports, the man was noticed climbing the heritage bridge over Hooghly River at around 10 am.

Fire tenders along with hydraulic ladder, local police and Disaster Management Group (DMG) personnel rushed to the scene.

Firefighters and DMG men tried for hours to rescue the man safely and bring him down the bridge unhurt.

Due to the hour-long rescue operation, traffic on Howrah Bridge was partly disrupted, a local police official said.
