Kolkata doctor's rotten body found in his flat

Kolkata, Oct 23 (IBNS): Rotten body of a senior doctor was found on Sunday from his apartment at Dumdum Seth Bagan area in Kolkata, reports said.

According to reports, after being informed by the locals, police recovered the body of 56-year-old doctor, Gautam Pal, from his flat.

Gautam Pal, who was living alone in the flat, reportedly worked as a doctor-professor in the General Medicine department of government-run R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital.

His body, however, has been sent for post mortem, while reason behind the death is not clear so far.

According to R. G. Kar Medical College and Hospital reports, he was absent since last Friday and his cell phone was switched off.

However, initiating a case of unnatural death, police have started investigation into the matter.
