Kashmir Separatists call for Joint Meeting on Tuesday

Srinagar, Nov 6 (IBNS): Amid four-month-long agitation in the Valley since the death of Hizb leader Burhan Wani on July 8, Kashmir separatist groups have called for a joint meeting of different stakeholders on Tuesday to discuss their future strategy.

According to reports, Sunday's three-hour-long meeting was attended by hardliner Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani, Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Muhammad Umar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik at Hyderpora at an office-cum-residence of Geelani.

“Various issues regarding the independence of Kashmir and current people resistance was discussed during the meeting,” senior Hurriyat leader told IBNS after the meeting.

He further said that leaders unanimously rejected the statement of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he had said that “development is the corner stone of Kashmir solution”.

“Revolutionary movements are hard to die by the deceitful promises of monetary benefits and such manoeuvring has failed in past and is sure to fail today as well,” the leader added.

During the meeting it was unanimously decided to take all the stake holders into confidence for taking the ongoing movement forward and called a meeting on Tuesday to discuss future strategy and to take some concrete decisions in public favour and education, the leader said.
