Srinagar, Aug 5 (IBNS): At least three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were killed in a gunfight with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Sopore on early Saturday, police said.

"After receiving an input about the presence of some militants, police, army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) laid cordon in Amargrah village of town," a police official said.

"During searches militants opened fire on forces, ensuing a fierce gunfight. The forces retaliated effectively, resulting in the death of three LeT militants," the official added.

The exact identity of the militants are being established while arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the slain militants, reports said.

During the encounter one police constable was injured.

He was moved to a hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, authorities have suspended cellular and mobile internet services in the town to stop any kind of incidents.
