Kanhaiya Kumar denies receiving any rustication warning
New Delhi, Mar 15 (IBNS): JNUSU leader Kanhaiya Kumar, who was recently charged with sedition, on Tuesday denied reports that he had received any expulsion warning from the university.
"I did receive a show-cause notice but there was nothing about rustication in it," Kumar told mediapersons.
Meanwhile, he led an"azaadi" protest march with five demands that include the resignation of Education Minister Smriti Irani.
"We want the resignation of Smriti Irani, dropping of sedition charges, the release of two students from jail, no interferences in the university's autonomy and a law against caste politics in colleges," Kumar told NDTV.
Earlier, a probe committee set up for the JNU agitation, in their reports have suggested the expulsion of Kanhaiya and four others. The committee has also showcaused 21 students.
The list also includes ABVP members.
Riposting the claim, students told a national channel that no reason for the showcause was mentioned and also pointed out that the committee did not have a single Dalit member.
