Judith D'Souza returns to India
External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met her after she landed in the country.
Judith D'Souza was abducted on June 9 by suspected militants in Kabul. She works for the Agha Khan Foundation.
Informing about the rescue of the girl, who is from Kolkata, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj earlier in the day tweeted: "I am happy to inform you that Judith D'souza has been rescued. @jeromedsouza."
"Judith was abducted in Kabul on 9th June 2016," she said.
Swaraj thanked Afghanistan officials for helping to find the abducted woman.
"Thank you Afghanistan - for all your help and support in rescuing #Judith," she said.
"Ambassador @VohraManpreet - you have done an outstanding job.#Judith," she said.
Her last tweet read: "Judith D'Souza is with us - safe and in good spirits. She will reach her Motherland at the earliest. Vande Mataram."
