Joint Committee on Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016 to visit Assam by-poll

Guwahati, Nov 2 (IBNS): The Commissioner and Secretary of Assam Home and Political department LS Changsan on Wednesday said that the Joint Committee on Citizenship ( Amendment) Bill, 2016 Committee would visit Assam after the by-election in the state which is scheduled to be held on Nov 19.

The Committee will announce fresh dates for Assam to take the views of the organisations, stakeholders on the issue.
           
The state home department further said that, this has been informed by Dr. Satyapal Singh, Chairman of the Committee to the Assam government.

“Fresh date of visit of the Committee will be intimated to all organisations, stakeholders once finalised by the Committee,” LS Changsan said.
