Poonch, Nov 6 (IBNS): While an Indian soldier was killed in a fresh ceasefire violation from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district early on Sunday, the army claimed that it has foiled two infiltration bids by the neighbouring country's troops along the LoC.

The soldier was killed in Krishna Ghati (KG) sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

According to reports, Pakistani troops fired mortar shells on Indian side.

The Indian army also retaliated effectively.

Pakistani troops were targeting forward Indian positions in Salotri and Sagra areas of KG Sector since 7 am.

An Army spokesperson, as quoted by The Hindu, said two infiltration bids assisted by Pakistani troops, were foiled in Poonch district’s Krishna Ghati Sector.

In last two weeks, eight soldiers have been killed in ceasefire violations.

After India's surgical strike inside the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on Sept 29, this is Pakistan's 101st ceasefire violation.
