Jammu, Mar 25 (IBNS) Ahead of the formation of Government in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP's national general secretar,y Ram Madhav will hold a crucial meeting of the legislature party today.

According to reports, Ram Madav will reach Jammu in the forenoon and will hold a meeting at State Guest House on Canal Road.

“Yes Madhav ji along with party’s Member Parliament Dr Jitendra Singh and in-charge J&K Affairs, Avinash Rai Khanna will reach Jammu today and will hold a crucial meeting with party members regarding formation of government in the state," he said.

On Thursday, People's Democratic Party (PDP) unanimously elected Mehbooba Mufti as chief ministerial candidate, ending a prolonged impasse in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP and PDP had joined hands last year after no party got a majority in state elections. The PDP is the largest party with 28 seats - now 27 following Sayeed’s death - in the 87-member house. The BJP is second with 25 seats.

After Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed passed away in New Delhi, the state was placed under Governor's Rule.
