IT attaches 12 properties of Lalu family, Dy CM says they are victim of 'political vendetta'

Patna, June 20 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): Income Tax Department has attached 12 plots of RJD chief Lalu Prasad family located in various parts of the country, media reports said on Tuesday.

The total value of attached properties is estimated at Rs 175 crores.

As per the report, the IT Department has attached 12 properties belonging to Prasad’s daughter Misa Bharti, son-in-law Shailesh Kumar, deputy chief minister son Tejashwi Yadav, wife Rabri Devi and two other daughters, Chanda Yadav and Ragini Yadav.

Reports further said the market value of attached property is Rs 175 crores although their book value (purchase rate on records) of the property is only Rs 9.32 crores.

Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav defended his family saying they didn’t do any wrong.

“We haven’t concealed anything. Whatever we have done is open to all,” Tejashwi told the media on Tuesday, adding these are being done with political vendetta.
