INS Sindhuratna mishap: 7 Navy officers found guilty
Mumbai, Jan 30 (IBNS): Seven Navy officers including the Commanding Officer were found guilty in connection with the INS Sindhuratna fire case that left two officers dead in February last year.
The Commanding Officer was also court marshialled after he was found guilty of negligence.
The Chief of Naval Staff on Friday issued letters of severe displeasure to six officers for acts of omission and commission, reports said.
A board of inquiry, set up to probe the INS Sindhuratna mishap case, found the officers guilty in November 2014.
The board had demanded explanation from the convicted officers and had issued a show-cause notice to them.
At least two sailors died and seven other Navy personnel were injured in a mishap inside the INS Sindhuratna, a Kilo-class submarine, off the Mumbai coast on Feb 26.
INS Sindhuratna (S59) is a Sindhughosh-class diesel-electric submarine of the Indian Navy.
