New Delhi/IBNS: Mounting pressure on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday made yet another attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the massive fall in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Covid-19 spread, the bilateral tension between India and China and other economic issues.

Rahul tweeted, "India is reeling under Modi-made disasters: 1. Historic GDP reduction -23.9% 2. Highest Unemployment in 45 yrs 3. 12 Crs job loss 4. Centre not paying States their GST dues 5. Globally highest COVID-19 daily cases and deaths 6. External aggression at our borders."

In a massive blow to India's economy, the country's GDP, which was already reeling in pre-Covid times, nosedived -23.9% in the Apr-Jun quarter drawing sharp criticisms from the opposition parties.

However it should also be noted that the Apr-Jun quarter had witnessed an unprecedented complete lockdown which was called by Modi to stem the spread of Covid-19.

In a fresh attempt to change the status-quo at the Line of Actual Control, the Chinese troops carried out provocative military movements at Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh on Aug 29 and 30 to only get thwarted by India, the country's Defence Ministry said on Monday.

This is the first attempt by China to trespass at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) since the deadly border clash took place between soldiers of the two Asian giants at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Jun 15 night.
