Jerusalem, July 5 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Israel counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday signed seven pacts, following which the latter said that the tie between the two countries is "a marriage made in heaven."

Addressing a joint press conference after signing the pacts, the Israeli PM said: "This is a marriage made in heaven, but we are implementing it here on earth."

PM Modi, who is currently visiting Israel, said: "Our talks focused on not just areas of bilateral opportunities but also how our cooperation can help the cause of global peace and stability."

India and Israel signed seven agreements in sectors like space technology, agriculture and water conservation.

Speaking on the seven Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), Netanyahu said, "We are making history together with my friend Prime Minister Modi and this is deeply moving moment for me."

Among other pacts, both countries agreed to establish a "Strategic Partnership in Water and Agriculture" that will focus mostly on water conservation and also reusing water for agricultural purposes.

"We agreed that efficiency of water and resource use; water conservation and its purification; productivity increases in agriculture are key areas in deepening our bilateral cooperation," PM Modi said.

Recognising terrorism as global threat, both heads reiterated their commitment on the need to combat terrorism forces.
