Hyderabad, Sept 17 (IBNS) : A first-year student was found hanging in his hostel room early on Saturday morning at the Hyderabad Central University, NDTV reported.

Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula had killed himself inside his hostel room in the same university in  January this year.

NDTV quoted the police as saying that  they suspect Praveen Nalli, a Master of Fine Arts student, committed suicide.

However, no  suicide note has  been found in initial searches at the hostel, they said.

Praveen was found hanging by other students, who alerted the Resident Medical Officer of the campus at around 4 am.

Police said Rohit was still alive, but died on the way to hospital.

Praveen is from Shadnagar in Mahbubnagar district of Telangana.

He had joined the university in July this year.

The reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained.
