Hyderabad rains: Army deployed in rescue ops

Hyderabad, Sept 25 (IBNS): As heavy rains continue to create havoc in the city of Hyderabad, a team of 480 Army personnel has now been deployed here to facilitate the relief and rescue operations.

According to reports, rains continued to lash parts of the city on Saturday leaving hundreds of people restricted to their apartments for the fourth consecutive day.

Following the situation, eight Army task force teams of 40 men each have been deployed in the submerged areas along with boats, medicines and rescue equipment.

The rains are expected to continue till Sept 28.

Two private helicopters have been kept ready to transport people from submerged areas.

Meanwhile, according to reports, 17 trains have been cancelled in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
