Himachal Pradesh: School bus falls into george, 27 children among 30 killed

Dharamsala, Apr 9 (IBNS): At least 30 people, including 27 students, were killed as a school bus fell into a deep gorge near Malkwal area of Nurpur constituency in Himachal Pradesh on Monday, media reports said.

Reacting to the accident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said:

Besides students, bus driver Madan Lal, and two women teachers also died in the accident.

The bus was on its way to drop students to their homes.

According to reports, the vehicle plunged off the mountain road and fell into the gorge.

State Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each for the next kin of the deceased.
