Mumbai, Aug 2 (IBNS): The semi high-speed Spanish-made train Talgo, on its final trial phase, reached Mumbai almost two hours behind schedule on Tuesday after leaving Delhi on Monday evening, according to media reports.

The train was delayed owing to heavy rains and water on the tracks in Gujarat.

The Railway ministry tweeted, "Due to track wash out b/w #Delhi 2 #Mumbai route Talgo train trial affected: Upto Ratlam Talgo was running b4 time."

Under normal circumstances, the train is expected to lower the travel time between Delhi and Mumbai to 12 hours, running at speed ranging from 130 kmph to 150 kmph, media reported.

Now in its final trial phase, the train will be tested again on Aug 5, 9 and 14.
