GPS installed cars to be used in Karnataka polls
Bengaluru, Apr 17 (IBNS): To ensure free and fair assembly elections in Karnataka, the Election Commission has installed Global Positioning System (GPS) in all cars which will be used for the poll, media reports said.
The Karnataka poll was mired into controversy after Bharatiya Janata Party's IT cell head Amit Malviya tweeted the poll date even before the announcement of the EC.
The poll will be held in a single phase on May 12 and the results will come out three days later on May 15.
The state is one of the few bastions of the Congress in the country.
The poll has turned out to be a contest between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate B.S. Yeddyurappa.
