New Delhi/UNI: Former Congress leader Kuldeep Bishnoi Thursday joined the BJP at the party headquarters in Delhi.

He joined the party in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, party general secretary Arun Singh among others.

Kuldeep Bishnoi, who was expelled by the Congress from all party positions for cross-voting in the June Rajya Sabha polls, resigned from the state Assembly on Wednesday.

Bishnoi represented the Adampur seat in Haryana's Hisar district.

"Kuldeep Bishnoi supported PM Modi's leadership and backed the BJP candidate in the Rajya Sabha poll, therefore the party welcomed him," said Khattar.

Speaking to the media after joining the party, Kuldeep Bishnoi said, "Today I joined the party which is full of tall leaders of our country, I thank them for giving me an opportunity to join the party."

He said that he is inspired by the policies of Khattar and assured that he will work for the party with full dedication and commitment in future.\
