Fire breaks out in West Bengal hospital, no casualty

Kolkata, Aug 20 (IBNS): A major fire broke out in the operation theatre of Katwa Sub-Divisional Hospital in West Bengal's Burdwan district, reports said.

According to reports, the fire, along with huge smoke, broke out after a mild explosion in the operation theatre.

After evacuating the entire hospital building, staffers of the government-run hospital and locals started firefighting.

Later a fire tender engine reached the spot and doused the blaze.

No casualty was reported in the incident.

The entire operation theatre has been gutted completely.

Fire department has started investigation into the matter.
