Fake IPS officer nabbed in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 28 (IBNS): Police on Thursday night arrested a fake Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from Kolkata's Baguiati area, reports said.

According to reports, acting on a tip off, the 29-year-old man- Somen Kumar Suryavanshi- was held from a flat at Baguiati area and several fake identify cards were seized from his possession.

The man used to introduce himself as an additional superintendent of Jharkhand Police (Bokaro district), officials said.

However, the fake IPS officer was produced in a local court on Friday and sent to police custody.
