Chennai, Dec 23 (IBNS): Former Telecom Minister A Raja of the Congress led UPA government and DMK leader M Karunanidhi's daughter M Kanimozhi were greeted with a hero's welcome by party workers on their arrival in Chennai on Saturday.

The party supporters were seen crowding the airport area with posters of the duo, media reported.

According to media reports, a large number of cheering supporters were also seen around M.Karunanidhi’s residence in Chennai’s Gopalapuram.

On Thursday, much to the relief of the Congress and its ally DMK, a special CBI court acquitted A Raja, M Kanimozhi and others accused in the 2G scam case.

The accused were acquitted as the prosecution had failed to provide sufficient proofs.
