Delhi: Police rescues five year old boy who was kidnapped from school van

New Delhi, Feb 6 (IBNS): A five year old boy, who was kidnapped from school van on January 25, has been rescued by the police last night, media reports said.

Police have shot one of the accused in a shoot out on Monday night.

The other  accused have been arrested.

The police have tracked down the kidnappers in Sahibabad, 40 km from the national capital.

The boy was kidnapped by a group of men from the van where several other children were present.

The driver of the van had tried to stop the kidnappers but he was shot at his leg.

The boy's sister, who studies in Class 3, tried to stop the kidnappers but had failed.

The police got the lead on January 28 when the kidnappers had called the boy's parents for a ransom of Rs. 50 lakh.

The boy was kept at an apartment.

The boy was handed over to the parents early this morning.
