Patna, Oct 14 (The Bihar Post/IBNS): Miscreants chopped off the tongue of a man in Bihar after the latter reported power theft to the electricity board authorities in Bihar.

The man with severe tongue wounds has been admitted to a hospital for treatment although his condition is stated to be out of danger.

The horrible incident took place at Danapur in Patna district during the Dussehra festival but was reported in media only on Friday.

According to victim Pawan Kumar, three youths kidnapped him, took him to a lonely place and chopped off his tongue with a sharp edged weapon before fleeing the scene.

The reason behind incident is said to be an old dispute resulting in raid at the house of one of the accused persons by the electricity department for power theft.

Subsequently, the accused had to pay a heavy fine to the electricity board.

Reports said the accused suspected the victim had informed the department concerned about the power theft.
