Congress mocks Yogi Adityanath as a 'recipe' to become BJP's star campaigner

Congress has put a video on its Twitter handle targeting the UP CM as a subject of mockery.

The video uploaded demonstrates various controversial characteristics and deeds of Adityanath as a leader which the Congress proposes to be important for becoming BJP's star campaigner.

Congress captioned the video saying: 'Here's a recipe for a BJP star campaigner. We don't recommend it.."

Adityanath, a fire brand Hindutva, has been a controversial figure in Indian politics for several of his remarks.

In one of his remarks years ago, Adityanth had said women turn demons if they develop masculine traits. He was also criticised for a controversial rape threat.

The BJP leader has been the Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur constituency, Uttar Pradesh, between 1998 and 2017. In 2017, the BJP chose Adityanath as the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister after the party swept the state election.

As the UP CM too, Adityanath was marred into controversy when more than 70 children died in the state hospital last year due to an alleged medical negligence. However, Adityanath held Encephalitis as the sole reason behind the deaths.

The BJP is also investing into Adityanath for campaigning in Karnataka where the party is seeking political power.
