Lucknow, Mar 21 (IBNS): Congress leader Raj Babbar has resigned as the Uttar Pradesh Congress party president, media reports said.

However, the party is yet to accept his resignation.

Sources confirmed to India Today that till his resignation is accepted, he will continue to work as the UPC chief.

"Reports suggest that a person from the Brahmin community is likely to be the next chief of the Congress Unit," the magazine reported.

Jitin Prasad, Rajesh Mishra and Laliteshpati Tripathi are also in contention, claimed the report.
