China accuses Indian troops of crossing LAC

Beijing, June 27 (IBNS) : China has accused the Indian troops of crossing its border along the Line of Actual Control in Sikkim and obstructing its army from carrying out routine works.

A report by China's state-run news agency Xinhua said  China has  urged India to immediately withdraw its border guards that have crossed the boundary and have a thorough investigation of this matter.

The news agency has quoted a  Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson.

According to the spokesperson, Geng Shuang, Indian border guards crossed the boundary in the Sikkim section of the China-India border and entered the territory of China, and obstructed normal activities of Chinese frontier forces in the Donglang area recently, and the Chinese side has taken counter-measures.

The statement talked about the border agreement between the two countries and how Indian troops had violated it.

"The Sikkim section of the China-India boundary has been defined by treaties, Geng said, noting that the Indian government has repeatedly confirmed in writing that there is no objection," the report said.

The spokesman claimed that in  view of the above event, for safety reasons, China has to put off arranging the Indian official pilgrims to enter China at the Nathu La Pass.

He has been quoted as claiming that China has informed India through diplomatic channels.
