BVR Mohan Reddy appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany

Hyderabad, Oct 5 (IBNS): BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder and Executive Chairman Cyient Ltd., has been appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The appointment was officially announced in the presence of the German Ambassador to India, Dr. Martin Ney; Consul General for Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Telangana (residing in Chennai) Mr. Achim Fabig and other dignitaries.

As an  Mohan Reddy will work towards further strengthening the collaboration between the two nations; promoting culture, industry & commerce, facilitating investments, educational exchange and enhancing goodwill.

The office of the Honorary Consul will also provide limited consular assistance in the state of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and support the German citizens within the two states.

Speaking on the occasion, the German Ambassador to India Dr. Martin Ney, said “Germany has a well established diplomatic and consular presence in India. In addition to the diplomatic mission – the Embassy in Delhi – four General Consulates are spread out across the subcontinent. It is my honor to announce that we are welcoming a new member - as Mohan Reddy has graciously accepted to serve as Germany’s Honorary Consul in Hyderabad. He has earned himself an exceptional reputation through his commitment to social responsibility and by building strong relationships between both our countries”

Achim Fabig, Consul General for Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry said “The appointment of Mohan Reddy will allow us to expand and deepen our engagement and activities in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. It is our fortune that Mohan Reddy is and remains deeply invested to the issues at the core of our bilateral relationships.”

On receiving this prestigious post, Mohan Reddy said “I deem it a special honour to be appointed the Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany. Germany is India’s most important trading partner in the European Union and our countries share a strategic partnership.  I value my deep professional bond with Germany for over two decades and look forward to further strengthening our ties in the areas of business, education and culture in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.“

This appointment of the Honorary Consul, only the second such appointment for Germany in India, comes at a time when Germany is looking to deepen the Indo-German collaboration in a number of areas such as industry, education, skill building and sustainability.
