Bus accident in Madhya Pradesh leaves at least 10 dead and 13 injured

Bhopal/Ratlam, Oct 14 (IBNS): At least 10 people have died and 13 injured in a bus accident in Ratlam district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, according to media reports.

The bus, which was travelling from Ratlam to Jaora, fell into a water-filled mine by the side of the road, near Namali, media reported.

According to local sources, bus had burst a tyre and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Rescue operations are in full swing to save the passengers of the ill-fated bus that got submerged in the water.

The Prme Minister's Office tweeted, "Extremely distressed by the loss of lives caused by the bus accident in Ratlam, MP. My thoughts are with the bereaved families: PM".

"I wish those injured in the bus accident in Ratlam a quick recovery: PM" tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office.

According to some unconfirmed information, 17 people have died in the accident.
