Burdwan blast: NIA gets 8-day custody of Myanmar national
Kolkata, Nov 20 (IBNS): A Kolkata court on Thursday granted the National Investigating Agency (NIA) to remand Myanmar national Khalid Mohammad in its custody for eight days in connection with the Burdwan blast.
The court also sent five others arrested in the case to judicial remand.
The NIA earlier arrested the Myanmar national in connection with the Burdwan blast case from Hyderabad city in Andhra Pradesh.
According to reports, he is a trained explosive expert.
He was reportedly involved in running terror camps in bordering areas of Bangladesh and Myanmar.
The NIA had recovered Jihadi literature connected to militant group ISIS while arresting Khalid.
The Burdwan blast incident had taken place on Oct 2 last at Khagragarh area in Burdwan district when the explosion in a house led to the killing of two bomb makers and discovery of a cache of arms and ammunition.
Several terror modules were busted following the explosion and its investigation.
