Burdwan blast mastermind's wife arrested

Dhaka, Nov 23 (IBNS): The Bangladesh Police have arrested the wife of the prime accused in the Burdwan blast from Dhaka's Sadarghat on Saturday, media reports said.

The police arrested Fatima Begum, wife of Sheikh Rahmatullah alias Sajid, along with three others on Saturday.

"A Dhaka court has granted police six days in two cases to interrogate Fatima Begum, wife of Sheikh Rahmatullah alias Sajid, an alleged commander of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB)," bdnews24.com reported.

"The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Maruf Hossain on Sunday also sent three others arrested with Fatima to remand for 10 days each, five days in each case," it said.

The three people arrested with Fatima were identified as  Abdullah Kazi, Md Isharat Ali Sheikh and Md Shawkat Sardar.

The Burdwan blast incident had taken place on Oct 2 last at Khagragarh area in Burdwan district when the explosion in a house led to the killing of two bomb makers and discovery of a cache of arms and ammunition. 

Several terror modules were busted following the explosion and its investigation.
