Budget Session to start on January 29, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to present budget on February 1
New Delhi, Jan 5 (IBNS): The Budget Session of the Parliament will commence from Jan 29, officials said.
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will deliver his Union Budget speech on Feb 1.
Ananthkumar, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Chemicals & fertilizers, said: "Budget Session's first part will commence from January 29."
He said the first half of the session will continue till Feb 9.
He said the second half of the Budget Session will start from Mar 5 and will continue till Apr 9.
The Winter Session of the Parliament ended on Friday.
The Winter Session 2017 has been a successful session in terms of the legislative business conducted and wide participation of all political parties in discussions on various issues of national importance, said Ananthkumar.
He said the winter Session provided 13 sittings spread over a period of 22 days
The productivity of Lok Sabha was 91.58% and that of Rajya Sabha was 56.29%.
During the Session, 14 Bills )14 in the Lok Sabha( were introduced. The Lok Sabha passed 13 Bills and while the Rajya Sabha passed 9 Bills during the session. 13*Bills were passed by both the Houses of Parliament.
