Guwahati, Dec 22 (IBNS): The Border Security Force ( BSF) in Meghalaya's South Garo Hills apprehended two persons on Wednesday evening and seized Rs 29 lakh cash in denominations of Rs 2000, Rs 500 and Rs 100.

A top official of BSF alleged the nabbed duo were taking over Rs 29 lakh in new currency notes from Assam to the border village of Gasuapara in South Garo Hills.

Both the accused are residents of Mankachar in South Salmara district of Assam and were reportedly taking the money to a coal exporter.

The apprehended persons were identified as Nasib Miya and Bilal Hossain.

Later they were handed over to Dalu police.
