BSF jawans shoot dead two Pakistani infiltrators along Punjab border

Chandigarh, Sep 20 (IBNS): The Border Security Force (BSF) said that it shot two Pakistani infiltrators dead along the Punjab border on Tuesday night.

According to reports, the infiltrators were suspected to be drug peddlers and reportedly fired at the army team, before being killed.

The said incident took place near the International Boundary in Ajnala sector in Amritsar, Punjab, The Hindu reported.

"When challenged by BSF troops, infiltrators fired on ambush line with automatic weapons. Taking cover, the fire was appropriately retaliated and infiltrators were neutralized near the fence," the daily quoted a BSF official as stating.

The official said that the team recovered four packets of heroin, weighing one kilo each, along with an AK-47 rifle, magazines, a 9 mm pistol, a Pakistani mobile phone, and Rs 20,000 in Pakistani currency from the infiltrators.
