Thiruvanthapuram, Oct 13 (IBNS) : The Bharaitya Janata Party managed to force a dawn-to-dusk shutdown in most parts of Kerala on Thursday in protest against the murder of a party worker allegedly by CPI(M) men, reports said.

The shutdown was total in Central Kerala with shops and establishments remaining closed and the public transport system going off the road.

The majority of government departments and private firms remained closed. Shops, hotels and private establishments also kept the shutters down.

In Thrissur, BJP activists  attacked media persons at the Thrissur Swaraj Round, injuring two photo journalists.

The cameramen were attacked when they tried to capture the visuals of the BJP workers destroying banners of other political parties.

The BJP worker's murder in Kannur on Wednesday had taken place in Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's village.
