Bangladesh: Upazila chairman shot dead in Chittagong

Rangamati, May 3 (IBNS): A man was shot dead in Bangladesh's Chittagong province on Thursday morning, reports said.

The incident took place in Rangamati district of the province.

The deceased has been identified as Shakti Maan Chakma, 52.

He was the chairman of Naniachar upazila and also vice-president of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS -- MN Larma faction), according to reports published by The Daily Star.

Chakma's death was confirmed by Muhammad Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Naniarchar Police Station.
