Assam to observe Independence Day with a three-day programme

Guwahati, Aug 11 (IBNS): The Assam government has decided to observe the 71st Independence Day with a three day programme and in a befitting manner throughout the state.

On this occasion, the state government directed all the Deputy Commissioners and Sub-Divisional Officers to celebrate the occasion by organising various programmes in their respective Headquarters on Aug 13-15.
                                  
As per the programme, events such as- drawing, music, extempore speech and other similar competitions will be held among the school students on the Aug 13 and the prizes for the winners will be given on Aug15 in the Independence Day function.
                                 
Similarly, on Aug14, “Run for National Integrity” will be organised in all Circles, Blocks, District and Sub-Divisional Headquarters. Besides this, sports competitions will be organised among the children and youth on August 13 and August 14 and the prizes for the same will be distributed in the main function of Independence Day on August 15.
