Assam terror attack : Four people killed, several injured

Guwahati, Aug 5 (IBNS) : At least four civilians were killed and several injured when suspected terrorists opened fire at a market place in Assam's Kokrajhar district on Friday.

The incident took place at Balazan area  when at least two suspected  terrorists opened fire in the busy market area,  in which four persons were killed and several others injured.

The attackers  also lobbed several grenades.

The injured persons have been rushed to the nearest hospital.

Top police, army and CRPF officials  rushed to the spot and a gun fight continued in which one of the suspected terrorists was killed. 

Security personnel recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition and several live grenades from the possession of the man.
