Assam: KV principal arrest over bribery charges, sent to 2-day CBI remand

Guwahati, Dec 20 (IBNS): The special court of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Guwahati on Wednesday sent the principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Khanapara in Assam to two-day police remand, who was arrested by the prime investigating agency in a graft case.

Rajesh Dhawan, principal of KV Khanapara in Guwahati, was arrested by a CBI team on Tuesday evening, while Dhawan was taking bribe from a contractor at his official residence.

A top CBI official said that, a CBI team arrested the principal red handed while he taking a bribe of Rs 30,000 in cash from a contractor for awarding a painting and electrical work.

On Wednesday, Dhawan was produced before the special court of CBI and the court had sent him to two-day police custody.
