Chennai, Dec 15 (IBNS): Speculations turned true with the AIADMK choosing Sasikala Natarajan, the close aide of the deceased former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa, as the party chief, media reported on Thursday.

IADMK spokesperson C Ponnaiyan said on Thursday that rules will be amended if needed to place her in control, adding, "It is the desire of the entire party,"  reported NDTV.

Natarajan, 54, held no post in the party.

According to reports, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam has also backed Sasikala's name as eligible to head the party.

“After Amma it is only Chinnamma. Chinnamma follows Amma’s footsteps,” Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M. Thambidurai was quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.
