Afghanistan confers highest civilian honour on Narendra Modi

Herat, Afghanistan, June 4 (IBNS): The Afghanistan government on Saturday conferred its highest civilian honour-Amir Amanullah Khan Award-on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi is currently visiting the nation.

MEA spokesperson Vikas Swarup tweeted: "A true brotherhood is honoured. PM is awarded the Amir Amanullah Khan Award, Afghanistan's highest civilian honour."

On the first stopover of his five-nation trip Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday   inaugurated the India-Afghan Friendship dam jointly with  Afghanistan President  Ashraf Ghani in the strategically important Herat province neighbouring Iran.
