7 automatic rifles including M-16, AK-56 recovered in Manipur

Guwahati, Apr 8 (IBNS): Security forces on Sunday recovered huge cache of arms in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. 

Based on intelligence input, the troops of 5 JAK RIF of Assam Rifles and Bishnupur commandos jointly launched an operation at Pat area of Ishok Makha Leikai in Bishnupur district and 7 numbers automatic weapons from the area, which were buried by suspected militant group.

The recovery included two M-16 Rifles, 4 AK-56 Rifles, one A4 Rifle along with UBGL.

The recovered arms are believed to be buried near a water body by suspected militant group.
